Walkstool is a unique company making an even more unique and extremely useful product. The Walkstool Comfort is born of fine Swedish engineering and provides a portable posterior platform – in other words, a seat for all occasions. Whereas a folding chair or stool is nothing new, this Walkstool’s clever design makes it stand out from the rest. The two primary issues Walkstool’s designers focused on were compact size and load strength and the final product reflects their careful engineering and dedication.
The primary benefit of the Walkstool is the prevention of back strain or fatigue while keeping a person elevated to a comfortable height. This is useful for sports, event, and press photographers who spend many hours on their feet, squatting or on their knees. It is also good for campers and other outdoor enthusiasts or simply anyone who needs a seat in a location where a comfortable chair may be hard to come by.
The Walkstool Comfort line features lightweight and ultra-portable stools with two height positions depending on whether the telescoping legs are extended or not. Transportation of these sub-two lbs stools is a breeze, as it collapses into a compact form that can be easily carried in a camera bag, backpack, or tool bag to be taken just about anywhere. The Comfort line improves on the Basic line with a larger seat, different size seat mesh material, and larger rubber feet to prevent the stool legs from getting stuck in the mud

I am handicapped. I cannot stand for long periods of time without a lot of pain. I thought about those canes with little stools but they didn’t seem sturdy. I am a large woman and although I weigh less than the canes are rated for (250 lbs) they look poorly built. So I ordered this stool. This model is made in scandinavia and is rated for 440 pounds. It comes in a case and it folds down to about 14″ long. It is easy to use, you fold out the legs into the tripod shape and then you pull out the lower legs. The seat is attached and spreads out as you fold the legs outward. It is a very fast process. To fold it up you do the same in reverse, pushing buttons to push the legs back in and folding everything back flat. The seat is about as high as your average chair, like a kitchen chair. You put one point of the seat between your legs. It is a comfortable seat and angled such that your back is arched properly. It is comfortable to sit in. I’m glad I bought it. I’ll find it useful to use and easy to carry around.

Great designed stool, By
I’m an overweight person, which plays a large part in the types of items that I could select [constant weight considerations]. The backpack lounge chairs are good for staying in one place [but sort-of heavy and bulky to move]. The walking cane stools are easy to use, but not that comfortable, nor that sturdy, nor can they get you close to the ground. This chair is both comfortable, low to the ground, and has a very light weight, with a convenient travel case. This chair is a good fit for me and my need of a compact, easy to travel with stool for watching golf.

I’m a backpacker. One huge hiker review site has many hundreds of reviews, and this is the only stool anybody has recomended. Mainly they were using the larger 22″ (55cm) size. One reviewer there mentioned on the Sweedish maker’s homesite a Volvo is shown lifted in the air by 7 of these stools. With lighter loads the wide legs keep it from sinking in soft ground. My office chair is 18″, a typical living room couch is 13″-14″. So the 18″ seems to be of reasonable height and would save some weight in a backpack. For car camping, outdoor concerts, etc. I would use the next size taller. |
